(my favourite Japanese actress: Ayase Haruka)
My sensitivity seems to get worse due to the fact that I often shed my tears while watching Japanese doramas for some touching scenes. Most of them are not only about love but also friendships and family. For instance, the scene in "Socrates in Love", as Soku's Granpa watched over him while he was practicing riding bike, falling down so many times that he felt discouraged later, the Grandpa at that time opened his arms and asked Soku "Do you want to quit, Sokuharu?", Soku instantly got on his foot and yeah he made it. The promise of riding his Grandpa everywhere forever as a chaffeur written at the back of the picture of young Soku on the bike with a winning smile abruptly led to my tears for some reasons.
I must say it was just one of Japanese doramas making me cry. The more I experience these meaningful lessons as well as the depth of each story, the less I would like to turn back to Korean dramas again.
Love in Japanese movies always comes by fate but develops by their unstoppable endeavours from both to perfect themselves and for the partner. Love to them scarcely means thousands of lovely-dovey messages daily, some hook-ups, dates, laughs and arguments; or love is just because we lack a beau to date on weekend like our friends do. In Japanese films, my observation would run to the progress of how love is gradually reforming each person, obviously in a better way. They do not demand an utter alteration of their partner to fix them, instead both would attempt to achieve the necessary harmony for each other's happiness purpose. Ain't that kind of love beautiful?
Love is also the way they discover not only the positive bits of the partner but also learn to love the ugly ones as well, and accept them with great appreciation because it's the pure and down-to-earth love thanks to which they don't need to try hard to show the best of them when they are together. Love is not frustration as we must push ourselves to become perfect beneath another's eyes, but serenity as our mind gets calm, relieved and free to be who we genuinely are.
Gosh, this post is not all about love right from the beginning, I digress. All in all, Japanese doramas has contributed to my maturity enormously, not only about relationships but also life and I must admit that my perception has amazingly changed heaps.
For your information, I've lately been only following doramas of Ayase Haruka such as: Hotaru no Hikari 1&2 (Glow of fireflies), Byakyakou (Into the midnight sun journey), Sekai no Chushin de Ai o Sakebu (Socrates in Love), Saki,...
My brother ordered me the book "Into the midnight sun journey" last night, then it will probably be delivered to my house next week for sure. I'm glad to have the read since the dorama has still been engrained at the back of my mind for days regardless of my done watch for days ago.
Okay, back to my stuff. I made a deal with my goodie about competition of us on the way chasing our dreams by efforts. We both agreed that we would be spending only one hour per day for episode of Japanese dorama (we cannot definitely put them aside right now lol) and devoting the rest of time to the study and work. His goal is certainly final Japanese destination, a blissful reunion with his Japanese girlfriend in upcoming years. And mine, you know, is still a secret and I shan't announce until I work it out! Anyhoo, wish me luck on the tough way I'm making. It is clearly pretty strict and full of challenges, especially my indolence sometimes rises quite high in my head to indulge myself in the bed of roses lolz~ To my belief, nevertheless, I will do my utmost with my sheer diligence acquired from Japanese spirit. がんばってください! ;)
Out of the point, don't question the reason why I'm not interested in Japanese no matter how much I love their doramas and culture. Honestly, the same goes with Korean and Chinese...the fact that I'm unable to memorize logograms :)) Then I quit :"> It is easier to learn languages using Latin alphabet :p By the way, I can sing excellently Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thailand songs without understanding the meanings =)) Quite brilliant kiddo! :')
Nice weekend. Can't wait to get the book within next week!
Much love,
~ Hal
PS: I've found out that most of Korean dramas based on Japanese novels and comics *astonished*
